Coastal - Heart of Tin
The solo project of Paul J. Fox is a charming, sometimes poetical, cool and hazy mix of melancholy and hope, self deprecation and emotional honesty. This track, the opener to new EP “Crumble Blue”, is a perfect example of that. Dancing like the colours that shine when water and oil meet, the swirl of guitar mirages and vocals paint pictures of reflection and nature.
The Belfast native successfully blends the hues of more local influences such as Villagers with the surf-tinged tones of the more far-flung acts like Beach House, creating a sense of a summer where it isn’t always filled with sunshine.
The EP “Crumble Blue” is out 25 June via the Coastal bandcamp page (the first 200 downloads are free!).
